What is a rep agreement in door-to-door sales?

Rep agreement: A rep agreement is the contract between a sales rep and the company: it sets commission, chargebacks, held pay, expenses and what happens when you leave. It overrides anything said in recruiting.

Most door-to-door reps are contractors, so the agreement is the whole relationship. The parts that decide your income are the commission schedule, the chargeback window, any holdback or back end and its pay dates, housing or equipment deductions, and the terms for pay owed after you leave.

Read it before you travel or start. Ask for the pay plan it refers to, since the numbers are often in a separate document. If a recruiter's promise is not in the agreement or the pay plan, ask for it in writing.
