What is an MDU in fiber sales?
MDU: MDU stands for multi-dwelling unit: an apartment building, condo complex or townhome community. Selling internet in an MDU depends on the provider's access agreement with the property.
Single-family homes are sold one door at a time. An MDU puts many doors in one building, but a rep usually needs the property manager's permission to be there, and the provider needs the right to install in the building.
Some properties sign bulk or marketing agreements with one provider. Where your provider has that agreement, an MDU can be productive turf, with events and door knocking arranged through the office. Where it does not, knocking the building can get you removed.
