What is a closer in door-to-door sales?
Closer: A closer runs the sales appointment and signs the customer. In a setter and closer team, the setter books the visit and the closer presents the product, answers objections and completes the paperwork.
Closers carry the product knowledge: pricing, financing, contracts and what happens after the sale. They are paid the larger share of the commission because the deal and its quality rest on them.
Most closers started as setters or sold in an industry where one rep does both jobs at the door, such as pest control or fiber. Companies promote setters to closing once they book appointments reliably and know the product well enough to run a presentation alone.
